Ask Me Anything with BitRivals at ICOSpeaks: AMA Summary
January 15-th held an Ask Me Anything session at ICOSpeaks telegram chat. From the BitRivals there was:
Before we go to the first set of questions, could you please do a short self-intro?
👨💻 Jamie | Digital director and Co-founder | @itsFoxMcCloud
So quick introduction from me, my name is Jamie and my role at Bit Rivals is creative / digital director. I handle anything design related from brand, web design and UI design. I’m also a developer so I’ll be handling a lot of the development of the actual BR platform. I have around 13 years industry experience in building apps, saas platforms, websites and tons more in both public and private sectors.
👨💻 Spencer | Co-Founder and blockchain operations manager | @morpheuscrypto
So my name is Spencer, also known as Shepard in our channels, and I am one of the co-founders of the Bit Rivals project. I manage the blockchain operations and strategy and a lot of the logistical and legal side of the project. I’ve been in the crypto space about 4 years and I also have a professional background in the aerospace industry. Also a very avid gamer, grew up playing competitive games, so that’s part of where my passion for gaming and the gaming community comes from
Let’s get started!
Q: What are the features of the Bit Rivals ecosystem?
A: Bit Rivals aims to be a inclusive gamer ecosystem built for the common gamer. It is the marriage of blockchain technology with gaming systems. We want to reward gamers for playing their favorite games with crypto rewards. Bit Rivals will be compatible with a large number of major games such as League of Legends, Apex Legends, COD, Rocket League, etc
We have 5 ‘zones’ with each zone serving a particular function within the ecosystem
We combine the Play to Earn system with a Play to Win system. We plan to have a tournament system where players can sign up for tournaments and wager RIVAL for a chance to win the pot, and organize their own tournament. The Play to Earn system simply rewards players for playing their favorite games when they hook up their game accounts to their Rival ID
So a breakdown of those 5 zones
We have the Rival Arena where players can create and join tournaments, with the option to earn by becoming and organiser
We have the Rival Rewards which rewards you for simply playing any Bit Rivals compatible game
We have the Rival Loot which contains a bunch of digital and physical items you can purchase with your Rival and Rival points and also serves as a method of recycling tokens within the ecosystem
Then we have the Rival Hub where you can find players of a similar rank, view other players Rival Profiles and squad up
And finally we have the swap which is our own official DEX tool that enables staking, lp farming and more
Q: What makes Bit Rivals different from other gaming projects?
A: A lot of other gaming projects in the crypto sphere don’t focus on the games that people want to play. They usually plan to make their own NFT-based game and hope that the player base comes into that game to enable their Play to Earn system. Personally, we think that model has a low chance of success and we would rather integrate with something that people are already doing. We are integrating with the games that people already know and love
And games that already have a player base in the hundreds of millions
And it will be different from a lot of the other competitors out there in the fiat realm (community gaming, world gaming, etc) because of the unique rewards distribution model that is enabled through the blockchain
Something like this doesn’t really exist – a combination of DeFi, tournaments, play to earn, and an all inclusive app that enables the entire ecosystem and ties it together with the Rival ID
Q: How does Bit Rivals reward the gamer for playing games?
A: I think we talked a little bit about this so far, but in general our Play to Earn system is something we don’t think has been tried before on a blockchain application. So while players are queuing up for COD for Apex or whatever game they want to play, they are earning Rival XP points for matches and achievements using the algorithm we are designing. These Rival XP points can then be exchanges for rewards in the loot store, such as $RIVAL tokens, gamer merch, exclusive discounts with partners, NFTs, cosmetic for their profile, etc.
So the more you play and use the platform the greater rewards earnings you can make
You can also earn $RIVAL tokens from prize pools by winning tournaments hosted through the platform. Tournament organizers will also have the ability to earn a small portion of the rewards pools that are raised to incentivize them to make tournaments
We also have the ability for non gamers to earn too by submitting cosmetics / vanity items they have designed to our loot store and earn commission whenever any one purchases them
Q:How does the Bit Rivals ecosystem integrate with major games?
A: So as long as the game has a public facing API, we can take that data and apply a points profile to it. This means of course that not all games are compatible with BR, but in the future there are possibilities for us to produce an SDK or Unity plugin that will enable developers to make their games ‘Bit Rivals Compatible’. Here they would just pick which data they would like to expose to us, and then we set a points profile to it
This opens up a lot of potential opportunities for us in the future with game developers and publishers
Right, so in the near term we have a ton of data to work with through those public facing APIs, but we are also keen to work directly with game publishers, especially indie game companies, to find a way to integrate their games into our ecosystem
Q: When do you planning on releasing any of the Bit Rivals apps?
A: I think we touched on this a bit earlier as well, but to add onto that we plan on releasing a more granular development roadmap after the presale to give a little bit more details behind the scenes on our process for building the ecosystem. However, our DeFi system is already built and the smart contracts are ready so we plan to deploy that pretty soon after launch, which will allow users to stake and farm their tokens
Q: How will the Bit Rivals ecosystem integrate with NFTs?
A: I’m excited about this one! There are a whole host of ways that we can integrate NFTs into our ecosystem. To start off with, we talked about the Rival ID where players can customize their own profiles and show off their progress as a gamer. The unique cosmetics, badges, profile pictures, etc. will all be enabled by our NFT smart contract. We also plan on having a community NFT store where artists can sell their artwork, or artists can submit their artwork directly to the Bit Rivals team as an official NFT for an opportunity to earn commission off every sale. NFTs will allow us to reward early holders with Founder Edition NFTs and special badges that give them special perks in the ecosystem, and we will also use NFTs as a reward mechanism in the Play to Earn system where players will have the opportunity to exchange Rival points for exclusives and really show off their progress in the games that they play
Basically, there are a lot of ways we plan on using the NFT smart contract to incentive players to continue to play and reward them for the progress they have made
Q: Audit is important for both trust and security. Have you done any audit of smart contracts?
A: Yeah we have a CertiK audit that is almost complete, just waiting to hear back from the engineers https://www.certik.com/projects/bit-rivals
Q: How do you plan to spread awareness about your project in different countries where English is not good? Do you have local communities like Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Korea,.. so they can better understand your project?
A: See similar questions to this a couple times – we plan on expanding our platform and our network to a number of different countries and languages, we already have a decent French community. There is a huge gaming/esports presence in Asia, especially Korea, and we would love to bring all those gamers into our platform as well. This will probably look like a combination of unique communities and language services for our platforms

Q: Current NFT is a hot topic, but are NFT not just for art. Does your project think that more real world use cases will emerge for NFTs as time goes on, why should we take NFTs seriously?
A: I talked a little bit about the NFT store and how we can use it customize gaming profiles, give people achievement badges, etc. But my goal is to give these NFTs utility, such as an XP boost or access to certain perks on the ecosystem. I also have an idea for a game store similar to Steam but where the game download files are hosted as NFTs – and that is a way we can work directly with a lot of small game developers
Q: Does your project have plan about Staking??
A: We sure do, we have allocated 40% of our tokens to staking
Q: Is bit rival gaming suitable for playing through laptops, smartphones, computers, and more? And, can I earn those $RIVAL tokens by playing rival gaming??
A: We are building web apps, a desktop app, and a mobile app for BitRivals, all of which will allow you to access all the features of the ecosystem. The mobile app we will probably also make into a crypto wallet as well
Q: Can you tell us about your team members? are they qualified and professional in their fields? what are the recruiting qualifications for team members for your extraordinary project?
A: Our team is fairly small at the moment and we intend to expand after the presale. Right now we have a blockchain dev, a full stack developer, a PR and marketing manager, two influencer marketers and our social media manager
Q: During these days, be a Multi-chain platform is an obligation to be considered a competitive project, so can you explain who how many chains are you able to support?
A: We plan on making our token and platform cross chain! We are starting the the BSC chain, but plan on building a bridge to the ETH, ADA, SOL, MATIC, etc. blockchains. In the future players may have the choice of using different cryptocurrencies when paying entry fees to tournaments
Q: A common problem is that nowadays most investors are only interested in initial profits and ignore long-term benefits! So can you give them some reasons why they should buy and hold your tokens in the long term?
A: We have staking rewards for our tokens! So other than believing in the BitRivals project and then also using the tokens on the platform once it is built, holders will be able to stake or farm their tokens to earn high APY based on the lockup period. We plan on releasing the full staking tool soon after launch so anyone who bought tokens will be able to earn rewards for staking
Q: How did you get the community involved in developing the project? and how do you build a strong community to grow globally for BitRivals?
A:Community is very important to us because it will form the bulk of people actually using the platform. We want to be a very community focused project and get the community involved in major decisions for the future of the project, as well as competitions, shilling competitions, etc. We want to bring people in because they want to be here!
Q:According to the project’s roadmap- what are your most important next priorities?
A:After presale and then launch on PancakeSwap, we plan to release the DeFi tool with staking and farming. Once that is done, all of our attention will be on building our tournament and rewards platform so that we will have a working product to bring to our community in a timely fashion!
Q: When will your tokens be listed on the exchange and which exchanges do you plan to list on in the future?
A:PancakeSwap V2 will be the initial exchange. We will have tokens and funds set aside for listing on Centralized Exchanges, and we are keen to get community input on which exchanges they would like to target for listing first
